- Where is Sabah?
- Sabah is located on the northern portion of the island of Borneo. It is the second largest state in Malaysia after Sarawak which is also located in the island of Borneo.

- Sabah is a state while Borneo is an island. Sabah occupies the island of Borneo together with Sarawak (another Malaysian state), Brunei and Indonesia.
- How can I get there?
- A surprising number of direct international flights connect Sabah to the region. Malaysia Airlines flies from Hong Kong, Manila, Osaka, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo, among others (tel. 1300/883-000; www.malaysiaairlines.com).

- What is the currency used?
- The currency used is the Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Travelers’ cheques and foreign currencies can be changed for Malaysian Ringgit at banks and hotels. However, there are also money changer kiosks available at major shopping complexes and airport. Most major hotels charge a nominal fee for currency conversion.

- Bahasa Malaysia (national language) and English is widely spoken; Mandarin and some Chinese dialects are also widely spoken.
